Preliminary Task

Our preliminary task was to re-inact the Busted music video, What I go to School For.

My job in the task was mixed into two things. Seeing as I quite like to be in control of things to ensure that everything gets done properly, I made sure that I was working with other people put into this role themselves efficiently. This allowed us to get going and smoothly work through the assessment we had been set.

There was a bit of trouble at the start of the shooting due to lateness of people and some hesitance of others as to whether or not they actually wanted to star in the video. Pretty much none of us had any choice though and in the end we all just got on with it.

My other role was to star as the teacher in the video. This was quite a big part as the teacher takes up quite a bit of it. It was an easy part to play and I had a lot of fun as well as getting good shots and really trying to get the exact same video as the real thing.

In the end this was a great start to the rest of A2 level as I got a good idea of exactly how many shots would really be needed to make a good music video. There will be a lot of shots needed to make it run smoothly and be exciting. I also realised that working with a lot of people was difficult as some people were against ideas and in the end I knew that working on my own meant I would only have myself to deal with rather than everyone else's complaints.

This therefore meant that from the preliminary task I learnt to work properly and successfully on my own and get a lot of work done so that I have a lot of different shots to choose from.
